Hi Victoria, good question. So to me it’s not just one thing, but a couple. You joining this community is definitely a great step in the right direction.

      Here’s what I would recommend:

      • Join thePMKB and become an active member to build up your knowledge and reputation. So add a profile pic, a bit about yourself in your profile, visit the community often, ask questions, answer questions and so on.
      • Seek out opportunities to put in practice what you learnt. Be that starting a new project, applying for PM jobs, volunteering to assist on projects (even if you don’t get paid for it initially), etc.
      • Continue to develop yourself. There’s a couple of courses I included in the course which you should take such as the one on using Microsoft Project.
      • Network with other PMs. This community is a great place to do that.
      • Attend conferences or meetups. There are many ways to connect with people who share similar passions nowadays, so leverage on that. Google about it.
      • Work on projects as much as you can. Even if you’re not yet a PM or don’t have the official role yet, you can still work on projects as a Team member. As people see the value and knowledge you bring to the table when working on projects opportunities will start to come up and doors will start to open up for you.
      • Certifications. There’s more on this in the Menu at the top. An Agile Certification is great to have as a PM since there is a lot of demand for that worldwide. More and more companies continue to adopt Agile as the way for delivering projects.

        Hi Mauricio,

Thank you for your feedback. I think joining a network, etc is a good idea.
