Is there any specific way to choose numbers for Story points ?

Ex : Someone take the story point as easy – 1, medium – 3 and difficult – 5 and I have experienced some places take different values like 1,2,3,5,8 by skipping only some numbers. Is there any standers or consideration for that or it can be changed as we need ?

There isn’t a single / standard way, there are multiple ways and you can choose whatever works best for you and your team.

The 1 (simple), 3 (medium) and 5 (complex) approach is probably my preferred one though due to its simplicity. It’s easy and everyone understands it, the Agile Way!

Having said that, you can use things such as the Fibonacci sequence or planning poker and there are a ton of tools and apps out there such as:

This depends on the team. There is no one way of choosing story points…e.g I have tried the number of hours for a User story with my team.
