Is there a mobile version of this PMKB already in the works? It would be great to read or to answer some questions using the mobile phone.
Hi Dax! thePMKB is responsive and already optimized for mobile :) So just go to the browser on your mobile, type thepmkb.com and that's it! Login, ask, vote and answer as per usual. It works well, I've done it many times. We might release an App in the future but for now we don't intend to. Cheers!Read more

What is the difference between a Budget and a Forecast?

It’s a snapshot of the amount of time you estimate you will spend on the project before you even get started or a set amount Management defines you have to spend on that project. So basically, it’s a baseline amount and it remains unchanged throughout the entire life cycle of the project.
A Forecast on the other hand, is the estimated amount you project you will spend on the project at a given point in time. Generally, Forecasts are updated on a monthly basis and they vary every month. But they don’t have to, they can remain the same if you consider the projection to remain accurate. The Forecast can be above or below your Budget or it can even be the same amount, although it rarely is, as things will start to fluctuate over time.
Typically, the Forecast equals the Budget amount at the beginning of the project, but it tends to vary over time. As a PM, you will always strive to keep your Forecast as close as you can to the Budget.

Do you prefer starting a Project from scratch or getting a handover from another PM?
Personally, I prefer starting from scratch. But generally I don't have a choice on that and it's more the result of where we're at with the project (e.g. early stage, already started, etc.) You should know that 90% of the time I get a handover from another PM I have to fix something, which generallyRead more

You should know that 90% of the time I get a handover from another PM I have to fix something, which generally translates into more time, extra work and sometimes even re-process or re-work. Hence, me preferring to start projects from scratch where possible.
